A vehicle appraisal is a professional, unbiased valuation by an expert that determines the value of a vehicle. It involves an assessment by a qualified appraiser who examines factors such as the vehicle’s make, model, age, condition, mileage, provenance, rarity, modifications, and market trends. Appraisals provide a clear and documented valuation, supporting informed decisions regarding the vehicle.

The purpose of a vehicle appraisal is to establish a specific, point-in-time valuation of a vehicle. By documenting a clear and impartial dollar amount, an appraisal provides a reliable reference that can be used whenever an authoritative value is required. This standardized measure of worth creates a transparent benchmark against which changes in value can be tracked over time, and ensures that all stakeholders are working from the same factual basis.
